Something happened today, and I found myself telling God, “I’m going to do better tomorrow. I’ll do better tomorrow.”
But then He gently interrupted me with words that went straight to my heart: “Do not promise me tomorrow. Do not put it off. Promise me today. Promise me that you will do My word today. Promise me that you will obey Me today. Promise me that you will carry out the things I ask of you today. Not tomorrow, but today. If you can live in obedience to My word today, then tomorrow I am certain that you can do My word too.”
That moment shifted something in me. I realized that walking with God is not about waiting for the perfect time or circumstances. It is a daily, constant work of obedience. Too often, we delay simple instructions from God because they feel inconvenient or because we want everything to be lined up neatly before we act. But obedience is not about convenience, it’s about trust.
True sacrifice in our walk with God is seen when we obey Him quickly, when we respond with urgency to His voice, and when we choose His way even when everything isn’t “perfect.”
This was a big lesson for me today, and I’m grateful for it. And I want to encourage you as well: whatever God is speaking to your heart right now, don’t wait. Don’t postpone it until tomorrow. Don’t wait for the “perfect resources,” the “perfect timing,” or the “perfect plan.” Start with what you have, right where you are. As you journey in obedience, you’ll discover that God Himself perfects all that concerns you.
Above all, remember this: God loves you. He desires your heart and your presence every single day. Don’t put off obedience until tomorrow; begin today.
Take a look at this scripture “…Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts…” Hebrews 3:15. This was speaking to the people of God, not unbelievers. Choose, therefore to hear and DO as God instructs you daily, that’s your walk of Faith!.
