There’s a longing in the spirit that doesn’t let you rest. That’s what I felt yesterday. A stirring in my soul for someone I hadn’t seen in a long time, a sister I once shared deep fellowship with.
She was vibrant, full of hunger for Jesus, bubbling with the Holy Spirit. And then we lost contact. Yesterday, that hunger to find her again overwhelmed me. I sent out a plea asking friends if they had her contact or social media handle. To my amazement, within two hours, I found her. When I saw her again, I was deeply moved. She was alive. Still so graced. So beautiful. My heart was flooded with joy. But also with a burden:
It took the blood of Jesus Christ to save us, an unthinkable price. So high a ransom. And yet, sometimes, we drift. We lose track of our own souls and that of the brethren.
We cannot afford to forget the cost of our redemption.
Beloved, the enemy never loses track. The devil comes after every blood-washed believer. Not because you’ve done, but because you’re saved. Because of who you are, and Whose you are. He is strategic. Patient. Persistent. And his method? Isolation. He pulls you out of fellowship, service and away from your prayer altar until you’re vulnerable.
“Be sober, be vigilant, for your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
The lion doesn’t attack the entire flock, it waits for the one that wanders off. So I urge you: Stand your ground. Be fervent in the Lord. Serve in His house.
Your fire will stay lit when you stay connected and in service. If you drift from service, isolation creeps in. And that’s when the enemy strikes.
Above all things, guard your heart. “Your thoughts, desires and fears; they all begin in the heart. That’s where the whispers of the enemy comes too. Keep it pure.
And also, keep watch over the souls of others: your sisters and brothers in Christ. If someone crosses your heart, it may be the Holy Spirit prompting you to reach out. Don’t ignore it. Seek them out. Pray for them. Love them back to life.
Redemption is costly. Value it!.
